What is Excellence Through Equity (ETE)

Our team of administrators, teachers and diversity and inclusion consultants have created a four-day leadership event to help people and organizations transform from the inside, out.

Who Should Attend

  • Schools and districts whose academic performance for students is predictable by race or economic class
  • Relationships between some students and teachers is strained
  • Some teachers and/or students express feelings of disconnection, loneliness or isolation within the school or district
  • Too few parents are informed and engaged
  • Some teachers, parents and/or students feel that more time is spent on discipline rather than learning

What To Expect

  • Understand systemic issues school districts face
  • Practice compassionate dialogue for improved cross-cultural relationships
  • Learn effective strategies to create personal and organizational change
  • Get to know colleagues, their diverse experiences, and ways these can strengthen your team
  • Practice creative thinking and problem-solving to think outside of the box to discover new possibilities for teaching and learning

Monthly Online Community (8 Topics: Sept-Nov, Jan-May)

4-Half Day Face-to-Face (Facilitation) Planning/Training Sessions

  • August/September-Data Review and Planning
  • November-Sub Committee Equity Project Planning
  • February-Reflection and Check-In
  • May-Closure and Next Steps

1-Full Day Initial Staff Training-Foundational Course

  • Monthly Coaching 15-30 minutes: Lead 1-hour: Subcommittee
